If you find fruit stains on your carpet, don't worry, all is not lost. In fact, you can even deal with fruit stains quite easily yourself, without calling in the experts. And indeed, the sooner you try to treat them, the more luck you will have with removing them, because if they do start to set, they can actually be quite challenging to remove. First, scrape up as much of the spilled fruit with a soft plastic spatula, absorbing as much fruit juice as possible. Next, mix 1 teaspoon of a mild detergent, 1 teaspoon of white vinegar and 1 quart of warm water. Blot the solution on to the stain and leave to dry. If the stain is still there once it has dried, repeat the procedure. Otherwise, vacuum gently.
